care sunt comestibili.<br \/>\nTulpina este dreapt\u0103 \u0219i ramificat\u0103,frunzele sunt mari spinoase, de culoare verde-albicioas\u0103 pe dos,florile sunt ro\u0219ii-violacee dispuse \u00een capitule mari, receptaculul este m\u0103rit \u0219i c\u0103rnos, comestibil, f\u0103r\u0103 spini.<br \/>\n\u00cen tradi\u021bia popular\u0103 se cultiv\u00e3 \u00een gr\u0103dinile din zona rural\u00e3 ca plant\u0103 ornamental\u00e3 \u0219i se folose\u0219te \u0219i \u00een gastronomie.<br \/>\n\u00cen Sicilia exist\u0103 o s\u0103rb\u0103toare \u00eenchinat\u0103 anghinarei c\u00e2nd se consum\u00e3 doar preparate cu  planta, iar \u00een Spania, perioada recolt\u0103rii bulbului de anghinare \u0219i a altor verde\u021buri  se consider\u0103 s\u0103rb\u0103toare a unei regiunii din aceast\u00e3 \u0163ar\u00e3.<br \/>\n\u00cen fitoterapie se utilizeaz\u0103 r\u0103d\u0103cinile \u0219i frunzele care amelioreaz\u00e3 afec\u021biunile hepatice, afec\u021biuni ale circula\u021biei sangvine, afec\u021biuni renale.<br \/>\nAnghinarea este o legum\u0103 nutritiv\u0103, bogat\u0103 \u00een hidrocarbona\u021bi, frunzele con\u021bin cinarin\u0103, oxidaze, polifenoli, flavone, inulin\u0103 \u0219i al\u021bi deriva\u021bi ai acizilor cafeic \u0219i chinic, precum \u0219i un principiu amar, acid clorogenic, acizi amina\u021bi, s\u0103ruri de potasiu \u0219i magneziu, substan\u021be minerale.<br \/>\nAnghinarea poate fi consumat\u0103 \u00een stare proasp\u0103t\u0103  fiind apreciat\u0103 pentru efectele sale de ameliorare a enterocolitei cronice, pentru ameliorarea  diabetului neinsulino-dependent,a st\u00e3rilor migrenice.<br \/>\nDin punct de vedere farmacologic Cynara scolymus are ac\u0163iune antiseptic\u00e3, cicatrizant\u00e3, decongestiv\u00e3,frunzele m\u0103resc secre\u021bia biliar\u0103 \u0219i diureza \u0219i scad con\u021binutul s\u00e2ngelui \u00een colesterol stimul\u00e2nd metabolismul colesterolului \u00een ficat, ac\u0163iunea este \u0219i antidiabetic\u0103,coleretic\u00e3.<br \/>\nPrincipalele efecte atribuite extractului de anghinare sunt:reducerea nivelului colesterolului,protec\u021bia ficatului
